The Mission of Neurofibromatosis Northeast is to find treatments and the cure for neurofibromatosis (NF) by promoting scientific research, creating awareness, and supporting those who are affected by NF.

Neurofibromatosis Northeast is a non profit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 1988 (as Neurofibromatosis Mass Bay Area) by a group of people who were in some way affected by the genetic disorder known as neurofibromatosis (NF).

Race History

The Cupids Chase 5k was started in 2014 by Race Director Elizabeth Hanlon. Beth was on the 2014 Boston Marathon team for the National MS Society and this 5k was started as a fundraising event. It was so successful with nearly 3x the expected participants and so much great feedback that the event has continued since then. In 2018 after her son was diagnosed with NF she became involved with NF Northeast and quickly wanted to do more to help out such an amazing organization and community. The charity was added as a beneficiary in 2019 and has continued to help so many since then.

All funds from the event are donated to charity. 2024 funds will be donated to Neurofibromatosis Northeast. NF Northeast was added as a beneficiary in 2020. Over the past 9 years, the Cupid’s Chase 5k has raised over $50,000 for charity.
